Hey cheese lovers! My name is Hannah, and I’m lucky enough to be a part of this beautiful biz, as Katelyn’s assistant. I have been working for Platter Up Co for just over a year, and it’s been one of the best, and most fun experiences of my life. I’m the token vegan in our cheesy fam, and am here to my favourite vegan cheeses that we like to use on our platters and grazes.
My two favourite cheeses come from The Vegan Dairy, and are the chilli chives, and the fruit and pistachio. The Vegan Dairy uses cashews and coconut oil as the base of all their cheeses, which makes them all super creamy, and melt in the mouth, as well as natural ingredients that pack them full of flavour.
The chilli chives is a semi-firm cheese, and is perfect on its own, smeared across a cracker. Rolled in chives, chilli and garlic, it's a flavour bomb. And if you’re someone who’s worried about spice, don't be put off by the chilli, as there's no chilli in the cheese itself, just in the coating, creating the perfect flavour combination.
The fruit and pistachio is a delicious, dense, fresh cream style cheese, filled with dried apricots, cranberries, and figs mixed through. This cheese is rolled in crushed pistachios and crushed hazelnuts, making it a perfect choice for any fruit and nut lover. The fruit and pistachio is perfect when drizzled with a bit of maple syrup, or honey for all my non-vegan friends!
