I know I know, writing a blog post all about myself is about as self centred as it gets but my head of logistics, Sophie, kind of forced me too [that’s my excuse anyway]. In all seriousness though, in the case that people are curious as to who the heck is behind this biz, they now have an answer within a few paragraphs!
So let me introduce myself… My name is Katelyn Tripodi, between ages 20 and 23 [now], my life has been nothing but a cheesy dream revolving entirely around Platter Up Co. I was an incredibly lucky-duck growing up and had the opportunity to explore my passions, which explains how I went from a make-up artist [working on set of some killer TV shows and movies], to being an interior designer [regional manager of a brand with stores in Sydney, Byron Bay, and LA], to being a cheese platter maker [I know that term sounds ridiculous]. I actually started my first business when I was 6 years old, loaning our Captain Underpants books for 20c to kids in my street, and charging interest for late returns. So from the get-go, I have been super business minded and career driven.
My dad is Italian and my mum is Maltese, meaning I was surrounded by cheese and charcuterie from the moment I came out of the womb, I’m pretty sure my first words were ’12 month manchego’ [kidding, but seriously, best ! cheese ! ever !]. Being a mixed bag of intensely biz focused, crazy creative, and ridiculously ADHD, Platter Up Co was born.
Platter Up Co is so much more than just a business for me, honestly, I would still be doing it wholeheartedly even if money wasn’t involved. Not to get all deep on you, especially since we just met ;) but this business has gotten me through some really crappy and dark mindsets, and has lead me to being the happiest I have ever been. Seeing the smiles on my customers faces, introducing people to the best-of-the-best in the antipasto world, helping people create cheesy memories… There is nothing more fulfilling.
So, with all of that being said, welcome to my home, Platter Up Co <3
